Wiltshire boasts a thriving badminton scene, catering to players of all ages and skill levels. Numerous clubs and leisure centres across the county offer opportunities for recreational play, coaching, and competitive matches. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or a seasoned player aiming to improve your skills, you're sure to find a welcoming badminton community in Wiltshire.
The Wilson Lee Trophy attracted eight entries this year, although Swindon-Rousell and Phoenix withdrew before playing any matches. In the quarter finals, Corsham beat Raychem 15-3, and Chippenham 23 beat Cricklade 11-7. Following withdrawals, Salisbury and Laverstock advanced directly to the next round.
In the semi finals, Corsham beat Salisbury 17-1, and Chippenham 23 beat Laverstock 12-6. The final was played on 22 June between Corsham and Chippenham 23 at Springfield community campus. In a close match which came down to the final two mixed doubles games, Corsham beat Chippenham 23 5-4 in the final.
The competition (which is restricted to exclude senior
county first team players) continues to seek entries from more clubs. If your
club is interested in entering, please contact Chris Weston (chris_weston93@hotmail.co.uk).
